OC GastroCare is a leading gastroenterology practice committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive digestive care. We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team and help support our patients through every step of their GI health journey.
Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant will play a key role in ensuring smooth clinical operations and exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and proficiently bilingual in English and Korean. This is a full-time, patient-facing position that requires strong time management and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively communicate with our Korean speaking patient population
- Room patients and prepare them for exams and procedures
- Take and record accurate vital signs and medical histories
- Acquire an accurate health history from patients upon check-in and verifying past medical history, surgical history, current list of medication, allergies, pharmacy location verification, and any other pertinent information related to the office visit.
- Prepare and review charts prior to patient visits
- Submit authorizations for referrals and procedures
- Call external facilities for lab and diagnostic test results
- Notify patients of provider instructions, results, and treatment plans
- Assist in coordinating patients future care with OC GastroCare
- Properly instruct patients on Bowel Preps prior to Colonoscopy procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and medical equipment
- Support front office and clinical team as needed
Requirements:
- Must be fluent in Korean
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
- 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant preferred (GI experience a plus)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to reliably commute to both Anaheim and Placentia, CA locations
Compensation
- Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour, based on experience
