Requirements:

• MA Diploma
• BLS Card
• Bilingual Spanish preferred
• Ability to perform front and back office duties
• 2 years of MA experience

Job Description:

• Develop a set of focused strategies, designed to improve the linkage (and ongoing engagement) to HIV primary medical care of recently diagnosed HIV-infected persons; individuals of known HIV status who have never sought medical care and HIV-infected persons who have dropped out of care and are no longer seeking HIV medical care and treatment.
• Assists physicians and nurses in examining and treating patients; handling instruments; preparing and disinfecting treatment sites; applying and removing dressing and bandages.
• Perform high volume phlebotomy, finger sticks, urine collection, and specimen processing.
• Provide pre and post test, client centered HIV counseling.
• Conduct HIV/STD risk assessments and prevention education.
• Take vitals, room patients, and prepare charts.
• Assist providers during exams and procedures.
• Maintain monthly equipment logs (Glucometer, Hemocue, refrigerators).
• Support linkage to HIV primary care for newly diagnosed or disengaged patients.
• Support referral submission and tracking.
• Assist with patient discharge and follow up instructions.
• Maintain accurate documentation per funder and Quality Management requirements.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance at all times.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Los Angeles, CA 90016.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.00/hr.
