About the Role

We're seeking a motivated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our busy family medicine practice. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience in a supportive, team-driven environment.

You'll play a key role in supporting providers and ensuring a smooth, positive experience for both pediatric and adult patients.

What You'll Do

As a vital part of our care team, you will:

• Welcome and room patients efficiently, helping them feel comfortable and informed
• Take and record accurate vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, etc.)
• Prepare exam rooms-ensuring cleanliness, proper stocking, and readiness for each visit
• Document patient encounters and clinical data in the EMR system (EPIC preferred)
• Assist with appointment scheduling, confirmations, and rescheduling
• Support prior authorizations to help patients access needed care
• Perform phlebotomy tasks (blood draws and specimen prep) based on training
• Assist with front-office duties like insurance verification
• Collaborate closely with providers and staff to maintain efficient patient flow
• Provide friendly, professional care to patients of all ages

What You Bring

• Strong attention to detail and ability to document accurately
• Great communication skills and a patient-first attitude
• Comfort working with both children and adults
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Basic clinical skills (or willingness to learn), including vitals and patient prep
• Reliability and strong organizational skills
• Availability to work Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Preferred (But Not Required)

• Experience with EPIC EMR
• Medical Assistant diploma or certification
• Prior healthcare or medical assisting experience
• Background in family medicine or primary care
• Pediatric patient experience

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manchester, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
