This role is ideal for someone who is confident in a fast-paced outpatient environment, comfortable with high volume patient loads, able to integrate quickly with minimal training as well as being a competent, conscientious, service-oriented individual with a strong character to work in one of our gastroenterology medical offices in Tampa Bay. They will work under the direction of the division practice manager.Key Responsibilities.Patient intake, vitals, medication reconciliationCompleting medication refills and processing medication prior authorizations as directed by physician and within CMA/State of Florida scopeOrder entry, CPT coding, and supporting the providers with documentationUnderstanding of common medications used to treat chronic conditionsStrong proficiency with eClinicalWorks (ECW)Managing the fax inbox, including timely review, routing, and documentationScheduling patient appointments, follow-ups, scheduling procedures (Colon, EGD, etc.) and coordinating provider workflows Maintains inventory and equipmentMaintains a hygienic and organized area Minimum Requirements:Must be certified medical assistant. High school graduate with 2 year of medical office experience utilizing EMR/practice management systems.
