PACE, a member of Empath Health is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to join our interdisciplinary PACE team in Pinellas Park, FL. In this role, the Medical Assistant will partner with the clinic nurses and physicians/APRNs to help create more efficiency with the use of nurse and physician/APRN time and assume various clinical and non-clinical tasks currently performed by the other clinic staff in compliance with state practice acts and regulations.

What You'll Do

  • Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection/processing, EKGs, and nebulizer treatments.
  • Assist with medication refills, specialist referrals, and appointment scheduling.
  • Enter orders and ensure medical records and test results are available for patient visits.
  • Prepare patient information and medication lists for providers.
  • Administer IM/SC injections and perform simple dressing changes under physician supervision.
  • Answer phones, relay messages, and complete demographic forms.
  • Clean and process instruments and perform routine equipment maintenance.
  • Serve as a chaperone and assist patients with mobility and activities of daily living as needed.

What Youll Need

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); more advanced education preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
