What You''ll Be Doing:

• Assist the pediatrician and nursing staff with patient preparation, examinations, and care coordination
• Obtain and document vital signs, patient histories, and other clinical information appropriate to pediatric patients
• Assist with pediatric screenings, immunizations, and other routine clinical procedures as directed and within scope of training
• Communicate effectively with pediatric patients and their parents/caregivers to support a positive patient experience
• Maintain clinical work areas, equipment, and supplies
• Support efficient patient flow and clinic operations
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in compliance with HCC policies and procedures
• Demonstrate professionalism and compassion in all patient and staff interactions
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of clinic operations

Job Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required
• Current Medical Assistant Certification preferred
• Current CPR certification preferred - training available

Special Skills and Abilities:

• Basic clinical knowledge and skill level appropriate to education and training
• Knowledge of age-appropriate patient care considerations, including infants, children, and adolescents
• Ability to establish rapport with pediatric patients and communicate effectively with parents and caregivers
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional when working with children who may be anxious, fearful, or uncooperative
• Ability to seek, accept, and utilize supervision appropriately
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to document accurately and appropriately
• Basic computer skills
• Working knowledge of insurance types
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Flexibility and reliability to support the needs of the clinical team
