Medical Assistant (Per Diem)

A Central New York health services organization is actively seeking a new Medical Assistant for a great Per Diem opportunity at one of their facilities in Hamilton County.

About the Opportunity:

• Schedule: Sept 15th to Sept 17th and Oct 27 to Oct 29 and Nov 3 to Nov 5

• Hours: 8am to 4pm

Responsibilities:

• Room patients and assist with patient flow; check schedules and organize patient flow

• Accompany patients to exam rooms; assist patients with walking and transfers as needed

• Collect patient histories; prepare patients for exams and procedures

• Send and receive patient medical records

• Obtain lab reports, X-ray reports, hospital notes, and referral information

• Complete forms and requisitions

• Set up instruments and equipment according to department protocols

• Clean exam and procedure rooms between patient visits

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 6+ months of related work experience

• High School Diploma / GED

• Computer savvy

Desired Qualifications:

• 1+ year of Emergency Room experience

• Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree

• Medical Assistant certification

• BLS certification

• Working knowledge of MEDENT EMRs

• Experience in an Outpatient Clinic

• Orthopedic background
