Position Summary

Potomac Partners is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our ambulatory care team. In this role, you will support providers by ensuring efficient patient flow and delivering high-quality clinical and administrative support. The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in creating a positive patient experience while promoting quality, safety, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support providers before, during, and after patient examinations and procedures.
  • Prepare examination and treatment rooms by ensuring all equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and properly organized.
  • Obtain and document patient histories, chief complaints, and other pertinent information.
  • Perform routine clinical duties, including measuring and recording vital signs, height, weight, blood pressure, specimen collection, and administering injections as appropriate.
  • Assist in maintaining efficient patient flow while providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
  • Perform administrative responsibilities including answering phones, scheduling appointments, maintaining provider calendars, ordering clinical supplies, and completing other office duties as assigned.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to promote patient safety and quality care.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Medical Assistant experience in an ambulatory or physician practice setting preferred.

Licensure & Certification

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required for designated practices.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification required for designated practices.
