The Podiatric Medical Assistant - supports Podiatric providers and the clinical team by assisting with patient care, casting, splinting, bracing, patient flow, documentation, and administrative functions. This role is responsible for applying and removing casts, splints, strapping, and orthopedic devices under the direction of a licensed provider and in accordance with organizational policy, training, and demonstrated competency.
The Medical Assistant does not independently assess, diagnose, determine treatment plans, determine the type of cast or splint required, perform reductions or manipulations, administer medications or injections, or perform venipuncture unless properly qualified and authorized under New Jersey law and organizational policy.
PMAC (ASPMA) Podiatric Medical Assistant certification required within one year of hire.
