    Description

    Position Summary:
    Jax Spine and Pain Center is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our growing team.

    The Medical Assistant will support physicians and advanced practice providers by assisting with patient care, clinical procedures, and administrative tasks to ensure an exceptional patient experience and efficient clinic operations.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, medication lists, and chief complaints.
    • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
    • Assist providers during patient visits and minor office procedures.
    • Administer injections and medications as directed and within scope of practice.
    • Perform EKGs, specimen collection, and other clinical duties as assigned.
    • Document patient information accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR).
    • Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and follow-up appointments as needed.
    • Provide patient education regarding medications, procedures, and treatment plans.
    • Maintain exam rooms, clinical supplies, and equipment.
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and safety standards.
    • Assist with inventory management and supply ordering.
    • Collaborate with providers and team members to promote efficient patient flow and quality care.

    Qualifications:
    Required:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
    • Strong communication and customer service skills.
    • Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
    Preferred:
    • Prior experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, spine, or related specialty practice.
    • Current Medical Assistant certification or ability to obtain certification within a designated timeframe.
    • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a pain management, orthopedic, spine, neurology, or interventional specialty practice.
    • Experience assisting with patient evaluations, procedure preparation, injections, and treatment plan follow-up.
    • Familiarity with pain management terminology, medications, and treatment protocols.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
