GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/b>

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:<\/b>
<\/div>
  1. Consistently adheres and/or exceeds communication guidelines and expectations with patients, peers and supervisors
    <\/span><\/li>
  2. Communicate effectively by using welcoming words, proper tone of voice, appropriate body language, eye contact and smiling with every interaction.
    <\/span><\/li>
  3. Listen skillfully and displays a willingness and ability to acknowledge the needs, expectations and values of others through the use of reflective listening and empathy conveyance. Responds to needs in ways that are helpful and beyond expectation.
    <\/span><\/li>
  4. Work closely with the Physician to facilitate the accurate and timely completion of dictation for patient’s medical records by entering the physician’s verbal notes and diagnosis into the computer/EMR system
    <\/span><\/li>
  5. Take a competent patient history and translate all required data in the EMR system
    <\/span><\/li>
  6. Prepare the patient to be seen by the provider
    <\/span><\/li>
  7. Take vital signs
    <\/span><\/li>
  8. Review patient chart to insure that it is complete
    <\/span><\/li>
  9. Counsel the patient as appropriate, i.e. medical, family planning, etc.
    <\/span><\/li>
  10. Perform medical procedures as appropriate
    <\/span><\/li>
  11. Screen nursing telephone calls
    <\/span><\/li>
  12. Refer patient for specialty/inpatient care
    <\/span><\/li>
  13. Gather nursing statistical data
    <\/span><\/li>
  14. Retrieve and files information into patient records<\/span>
    <\/li>
  15. Maintain work environment<\/span>
    <\/li>
  16. Lab testing<\/span>
    <\/li>
  17. Immunizations<\/span>
    <\/li>
  18. Other duties as assigned
    <\/span><\/li><\/ol>

    Requirements<\/h3>

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>
    <\/span><\/span><\/p>

    1.<\/span><\/span>     <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Knowledge of Medical Terminology and Medical Assistant Practices.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/span>2.<\/span><\/span>     <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Read, write, understand and spell medical terminology correctly<\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/span>3.<\/span><\/span>     <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Type 35 wpm to scribe data into EMR as the patient office visit is occurring<\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>
    <\/span><\/span><\/div>
    1.<\/span><\/span>     <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>High school diploma or GED<\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/span>2.<\/span><\/span>     <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Medical Program<\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/span>3.<\/span><\/span>     <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>A minimum of 6 months medical assisting experience along with EMR experience preferred<\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/span>4.<\/span><\/span>     <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Strong Customer Service experience along with computer experience required<\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>
