Summary:

Presbyterian Medical Group's Socorro clinic is seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant I or Medical Assistant II to join our team. In this role, you will provide clinical and administrative support to providers while helping deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in an outpatient clinic setting.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for performing medical assistant procedures after completion of competency within organizations MA scope of work, under the supervision of a provider and PHS policy.
• Prepares patient for rooming and exam
• Prepares and administers medications and immunizations
• Suture/Staple removal and dressing changes
• Collects and prepares laboratory specimens
• Provides basic education to patients
• Sets up aseptic and sterile procedures
• Performs office-based procedures
• Performs basic foot care
• Assists with additional procedures as determined by provider
• Participates in the orientation of new hire MAs
• May perform regulatory audits
• Assists with visit closure
• Participates with care team to meet patient care and clinic needs.
• May perform scribe duties after completing PMG scribe training

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Six months of MA experience or successful completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program from an accredited school required
• Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire
• BLS (AHA, Red Cross or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required within 90 days of hire
• Maintains current certifications in required emergency response trainings (i.e. BLS)
• Completes all Organizational, Department of Nursing and Department-Specific competency training/requirements within specified timeframe.

Orthopedic and Podiatry Departments Only:

• ROT Registered Orthopedic Technologist ¿ Required within 12 months of hire.
