Medical Assistant – Contract-to-Hire (On‑Site)

Location: Somerville, MA 

Worksite Type: Fully On‑Site 

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm 

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire 

Position Overview

This role supports a fast‑paced clinical environment by performing essential patient care tasks and assisting providers with diagnostic and point‑of‑care testing. The ideal candidate is a certified Medical Assistant with strong clinical skills, reliability, and the ability to work independently in an on‑site setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and record patient vital signs

• Perform EKGs

• Conduct point‑of‑care testing (POCT), including:

  • Flu/COVID swab collection

  • Urinalysis dip

  • Rapid strep

  • Urine HCG

  • Glucose testing (glucometer)

• Support daily clinical operations as needed

• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant clinical environment

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED

• Medical Assistant certification, diploma, or equivalent formal training

• Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience

• Ability to pass required occupational health screenings

• Ability to work fully on‑site Monday through Friday

Preferred Qualifications

• Flexibility with shift hours

• Strong proficiency in the clinical skills listed above

• Excellent communication and patient‑interaction skills

Additional Details

• Travel: Not required; no multi‑site travel during shifts
