Description
A health services network in New York City is actively seeking a certified Medical Assistant (MA) for an ambulatory care practice on Staten Island to support both clinical and administrative functions in a patient-centered clinic setting. The role offers a mix of front office coordination and hands-on clinical support for a high-volume care team.
About the Opportunity:
Shift: Day shift
Schedule: Monday through Friday
Hours: Standard business
Setting: Clinic
Responsibilities:
Greet patients and guests, monitor wait times, and support patient flow in the waiting area
Assist with check-in, check-out, registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and document scanning
Answer phones, take messages, manage communications, and coordinate follow-up on patient needs
Support clinical care under supervision by obtaining vitals, assisting with procedures, collecting specimens, and maintaining exam rooms
Document patient information and care activities in the EMR, and help ensure records, forms, and lab results are complete and accurate
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Certificate of completion from an accredited Medical Assistant program, or eligibility to sit for the national certification exam and pass within 18 months of hire
At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in an ambulatory care setting
Experience navigating an electronic medical record system
Desired Skills:
Experience with Epic
Associate degree
3 years of Medical Assistant experience in an ambulatory care setting
