About the Role: The Medical Assistant Supervisor for Internal Medicine at Ridgeline plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care within a fast-paced clinical environment. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the medical assistant team, fostering a culture of excellence in patient experience and clinical support. The supervisor will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to streamline workflows, enhance patient interactions, and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations. By providing leadership, training, and mentorship, the supervisor ensures that all medical assistants perform their duties efficiently and compassionately. Ultimately, this role drives the continuous improvement of clinical services, contributing to positive health outcomes and patient satisfaction across the practice. This position is onsite at the clinic and typically works Monday - Friday during clinic and business hours. Lead, supervise, manage and support the medical assistant team to ensure efficient and compassionate patient care. Coordinate daily clinical operations, including patient intake, vital signs collection, and preparation for physician examinations. Monitor adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements within the internal medicine department. Assist and step-in to Medical Assistant role when needed. Provide ongoing training, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities for medical assistants. Serve as a liaison between medical assistants, physicians, and administrative staff to optimize communication and workflow. Address patient concerns related to medical assistant services to enhance overall patient experience. Assist in scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation to meet the demands of the clinical environment. Implement quality improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and patient satisfaction. Skills: The required skills in patient experience and medical assistance are integral to daily operations, as the supervisor ensures that the team delivers compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining clinical accuracy. Strong leadership and communication skills are used to guide and motivate medical assistants, fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes patient comfort and safety. Knowledge of clinical procedures enables the supervisor to provide hands-on support and training, ensuring adherence to best practices. Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance standards is essential for maintaining a safe and legally compliant clinical setting. Preferred skills such as proficiency with EHR systems and quality improvement methodologies enhance the supervisor's ability to streamline workflows and improve overall patient satisfaction. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a medical assistant in an internal medicine or similar clinical setting. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential preferred Completion of a medical assisting program, or related program. At least 1 year of supervisory or team lead experience in a healthcare environment. Strong knowledge of clinical procedures, patient care standards, and healthcare compliance regulations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage staff and interact with patients. Current BLS card and maintain current BLS card throughout employment Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree or higher in a health-related field. Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, preferably Epic or Cerner. Training or certification in leadership, management, or healthcare quality improvement. Familiarity with patient experience measurement tools and strategies. Bilingual abilities to support diverse patient populations.
