This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, OAMHC, 2319 St Matthews Rd NE, Orangeburg, SC 29115.

As the Medical Technician I, working under the supervision of the nursing manager, you will provide assistance with medication services (medications, Clozaril) to include working with medical staff, pharmacy staff and insurance providers. Providers assistance with process prior authorizations and Patient Assistance Programs (PAP) for medications. Will provide services for all CECMHC sites as needed.

Responsibilities for the Medical Technician:

  • Support the provision of evidenced based services (Safe, effective and measurable) to help consumers move forward in recovery to include: Providing medication services to consumers in a timely and efficient manner, logging in and storing medications, handling PAP medications for OAMHC sites and ensuring policy/procedures are adhered to, obtain paperwork, making telephone calls and processing any necessary forms to pursue prior authorization for medications. Includes Cover My Meds program and Wellvista program.
  • Demonstrate fiscal responsibility to include compliance with corporate compliance plan in accordance with center, OMH, and State Corporate Compliance policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Provide quality customer services and networks with stakeholders to increase knowledge of prevention, treatment and recovery services.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

  • A high school diploma and experience or training within the specific work area.

  • Two (2) years of clerical experience. or an associate degree in secretarial science or other related field; or three (3) years of clerical experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to lift five (5) pounds.
  • Must have own transportation

  • A high school diploma and two (2) years of clerical experience or an associate degree in secretarial science or other related field; or three (3) years of clerical experience.
