Position Summary:

Responsible for performing a variety of duties that may be both clinical and administrative tasks. This includes assisting physicians with patient care and handling clerical, environmental and organizational tasks. Expected to provide information to patients so that they benefit from the clinical services.

Essential Job Functions:

Check schedules, prepare charts, organize patient flow, room patients.

Collect patient history including medications and reason for visit, chart in EMR, relay information

Check vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature), measure height and weight, take EKGs

Set up equipment, maintain cleanliness of exam rooms, order supplies, keep exam rooms stocked

Assist with minor procedures, collection and processing POC tests and specimens, do CLIA waived tests

Send and receive medical records, obtain lab & test Results

Prepare and propose renewals of medication within patient chart to be sent to provider

Ensure patient results are reviewed by physician in a timely manner, provide appropriate follow up as directed

Follow HIPAA guidelines

Support care coordination, including patient follow up, facilitating referrals, and ensuring continuity of care across the multidisciplinary team.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives, assist with clinical audits, and adhere to all infection prevention and control protocols.

Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR), ensuring compliance with regulatory, organizational, and HIPAA standards.

Respond to clinical emergencies (within MA scope), including initiating basic life support and notifying appropriate providers.

Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and competency validation activities to maintain licensure and support practice goals.

Other duties as assigned by supervising physicians, advanced practice providers, or practice leadership, necessary consistent with MA scope

Non Certified: $22.00-$28.00 per hour Certified: $23.00-$30.00 per hour
