Our client, a busy neurology practice in Winter Park, FL, is seeking a dedicated and bilingual (English/Spanish) Medical Assistant to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual seeking a contract-to-hire position with the potential for long-term growth.About Our Client's Practice: Our client is a leading neurology practice committed to providing exceptional patient care and innovative treatment for a wide range of neurological conditions. Their team is passionate about supporting patients through every step of their healthcare journey, and they rely on skilled and empathetic professionals to deliver the highest standard of service.Responsibilities: The Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in both administrative and clinical aspects of patient care, ensuring smooth office operations and an optimal patient experience. Key responsibilities include:Prior Authorizations: Efficiently manage and submit prior authorization requests for medications, imaging, and other necessary procedures, working closely with insurance companies and pharmacies to ensure timely approvals.Patient Vitals: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight) and relevant medical history.Charting: Maintain comprehensive and accurate electronic health records (EHR), documenting patient encounters, vital signs, chief complaints, and physician notes in a timely manner.MIPS (Merit-based Incentive Payment System) Support: Assist with data collection and reporting related to MIPS quality measures to ensure compliance and optimize patient outcomes.Reconcile Patient's Medications: Accurately review and reconcile patient medication lists, verifying dosages and instructions with patients and providers.Patient Intake & Preparation: Escort patients to exam rooms, prepare them for examinations, and assist physicians during procedures as needed.Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries, scheduling appointments, and providing clear instructions in both English and Spanish.Cross-Cover in Front Office: Provide support for front office duties, including answering phones, scheduling, and patient check-in/check-out, as needed to ensure seamless operations.Clinical Support: Assist with in-office procedures, prepare lab specimens, and ensure exam rooms are stocked and sanitized.Administrative Tasks: Manage phone calls, assist with referrals, and perform other clerical duties as required to support the efficient functioning of the practice.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required.Fluency in both English and Spanish (verbal and written) is required.Previous experience as a Medical Assistant.Neurology experience is preferred but not required.Experience with eClinicalWorks EHR system is preferred.Medical Assistant Certification is preferred but not required.
