Medical Biller / Charge Entry Specialist (PT/FT)

Position Summary (Onsite only)Eye Care Specialists is a busy multi-specialty ophthalmology practice with 7 physicians and 3 locations in Norwood and Norfolk. We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Medical Biller / Charge Entry and A/R Specialist to join our healthcare team. ResponsibilitiesAccurately enter medical charges and diagnoses into the practice management systemReview encounters for completeness and accuracyAssist with claim corrections and billing discrepancies as neededWork closely with Management and billing staff to ensure proper documentationMaintain knowledge of insurance requirements, coding updates, and billing processesHelp support efficient workflow within the revenue cycle departmentEnsure compliance with all federal, state, and payer regulations regarding billing practicesReceive patient claim data and submit insurance claims for visits and procedures performedWork with insurance companies to monitor claims status, pursue and dispute claim denials, elevate claims to appeals, and/or seek all methods to resolve open claimsMinimum Education RequirementsHigh school diploma or GEDCertified in Medical Billing and CodingSkills & QualificationsSignificant medical billing experience is a MUSTMinimum three years of experience in medical billing, accounts receivable in a healthcare settingStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to multitask in a fast-paced medical environmentEffective communication and teamwork skillsExperience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred Why Join Our TeamSupportive and collaborative work environmentExcellent full-time benefits package, featuring health, dental, and vision coverage; short- and long-term disability; 401(k); generous PTO; employee discount and paid holidays.
