Warm Valley Health Care is looking to add to the Billing/Coding department.Job Summary:The Medical Biller/Coder is responsible for translating healthcare services rendered into standardized codes for insurance billing, ensuring accurate reimbursement. This role ensures the efficient processing of patient data, medical records, and insurance claims in compliance with healthcare regulations.Key Responsibilities:Accurately assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to diagnoses and procedures based on medical documentation.Review patient records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulations.Prepare and submit clean claims to insurance companies electronically or via paper submission.Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe.Resolve billing issues with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers.Correct rejected or denied claims and resubmit for payment.Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts.Generate patient statements and respond to billing inquiries.Maintain strict confidentiality of patient health information (HIPAA compliance).Stay updated on coding guidelines and insurance regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid rules.Assist with audits, reporting, and other administrative tasks as needed.Required Skills and Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred.Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Professional Biller (CPB), or similar credentials 1-3 years of medical billing and coding experience in a healthcare setting.Extensive Medicare and Medicaid Billing experience.Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and insurance billing procedures.Proficient with billing software, electronic health records (EHRs), and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:Submit a completed application with supporting documents via the online portal.Applications are available at Warm Valley Health Care or for more information contact Stacie Fagerstone, Executive HR Director via email at stacie.fagerstone@warmvalley.health.Preference will be given to a qualified Eastern Shoshone tribal member, then other qualified federally recognized Indian tribal members and then other qualified candidates.Applicants must submit a copy of Tribal Enrollment card or CIB for Indian Preference.Veterans who meet the minimum qualifications and provide documentation of an honorable discharge (DD214) from any branch of military service are entitled to receive preference points during the interview process.Any offer of employment is contingent upon on negative drug test results, reference checks and background check.
