Job Title: Medical Biller (Full-Time)
Location: Hoffman Estates, IL
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday


Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our growing multi-location medical practice. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims, follow-up on unpaid claims, and maximizing reimbursement while maintaining compliance with all payer guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Submit and manage insurance claims (electronic and paper) in a timely manner
  • Review and correct claim errors prior to submission
  • Follow up on denied, rejected, or unpaid claims with insurance companies
  • Post insurance payments, adjustments, and patient payments accurately
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits when needed
  • Work aging reports and prioritize high-value accounts
  • Identify trends in denials and recommend process improvements
  • Communicate with front desk, coding team, and providers to resolve billing issues
  • Ensure compliance with payer regulations, including Medicare and commercial plans
  • Assist with patient billing inquiries and payment plans as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of medical billing experience (interventional radiology specialty preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
  • Experience with Medicare and commercial payers (Aetna, BCBS, UHC, etc.)
  • Familiarity with EDI transactions (837, 835)
  • Experience with EMR/PM systems 
  • Strong understanding of claim denials and appeals process
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in interventional pain management, vascular, or surgical specialties
  • Knowledge of prior authorizations and predeterminations
  • Familiarity with clearinghouses and payer portals (e.g., Availity, NGSConnex)
