Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely reimbursement from insurance providers. This role requires a strong understanding of medical billing procedures, coding systems, and medical records management to support efficient revenue cycle operations. The Medical Biller will collaborate with medical staff and insurance companies to resolve billing issues and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations.
Duties
Prepare and submit accurate claims using DRG, CPT coding, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards.
Review and verify patient medical records for completeness and accuracy before billing.
Ensure proper documentation of procedures, diagnoses, and treatments in EMR/EHR systems.
Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection strategies.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, coding updates, and healthcare regulations.
Reconcile accounts receivable and process adjustments as necessary.
Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claim discrepancies or rejections.
Assist in maintaining organized medical records and ensure compliance with privacy laws.
Support other administrative tasks related to medical office operations as needed.
Any other related tasks assigned by Management.
Skills
Proficiency in medical billing software and EMR/EHR systems.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding standards (DRG, CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), and billing procedures.
Experience with medical collection processes and resolving insurance claim issues.
Familiarity with medical records management and healthcare documentation standards.
Ability to interpret complex medical documents and accurately assign appropriate codes.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or within a team environment.
