About the Role
We are a busy physical medicine practice specializing in rehabilitation, chiropractic, acupuncture, physical therapy, and massage therapy. We're looking for an experienced Medical Biller to join our team and take ownership of our billing and collections operations.
This is a full-time, in-office position for someone who thrives with independence, manages their time and caseload efficiently, and doesn't need close supervision to stay on top of their work.
What You'll Do
- Manage the full revenue cycle from charge entry through payment posting and collections
- Submit accurate, timely claims to insurance payers
- Follow up on unpaid, denied, and underpaid claims, and resolve billing discrepancies
- Post payments and reconcile accounts
- Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and providers regarding billing questions
- Monitor aging reports and proactively work down outstanding balances
- Stay current on payer-specific billing requirements and coding guidelines relevant to our specialties
- Support the daily operations of the billing department
What We're Looking For
- Experience managing the full revenue cycle for a medical practice
- Prior billing experience in physical medicine, chiropractic, rehabilitation, acupuncture, physical therapy, or massage therapy preferred.
- Patients are mostly PPO insurances, some Medicare, Triwest, and workers' compensation.
- Strong understanding of insurance billing, claims processing, and collections
- Excellent time management and organizational skills — able to manage a full caseload independently
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- A reliable, self-motivated work ethic and a sense of pride and ownership in your work
- Comfortable learning new software systems (we will train on our specific specialty and billing software)
What We Offer
- Full-time, in-office position
- Hands-on training on our specialty and software systems
- A stable, established practice environment
After seeing many patients placed on multiple medications by numerous providers without much coordination, HEALTH ATLAST founders Stephanie and Wayne Higashi, both doctors of chiropractic, found a need to create a multi-disciplinary approach to healing where doctors work together as one to optimize a patient's health. This wellness approach was found to be the best for patients.
