Ophthalmology practice seeking an experienced Medical Biller. Knowledge with Ophthalmology or any other specially medical practice
Process and submit medical claims accurately and promptly
Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
Review claims for accuracy and resolve billing errors
Follow up on unpaid, denied and rejected claims
Post insurance and patient payments
Handle accounts receivables and outstanding balances
Obtain prior authorizations, when required
Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and payment issues
Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and insurance correspondence

2 + years of medical billing
Ophthalmology billing experienced strongly preferred
Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and insurance billing procedures
Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial insurance
Experience handling claim denials and appeals
