Main Function:

Under general supervision in a medical office setting, provides accurate and timely accounts receivable follow up and corrected claims resubmission.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all A/R duties including but not limited to:
    • Printing & working A/R report
    • Call on unpaid accounts (insurance side)
    • Print claims, attach documents and complete inquiries (mailing and faxing to carriers)
    • Responsible for account documentation
    • Scan documents in appeal portion of account
  • Assume responsibility for follow up on all outstanding accounts receivable.
  • Prepare and submit provider inquiries and corrected claims to carriers for payment.
  • Gathering and forwarding the carrier information for additional information necessary for claims payment.
  • Responsible to maintain accurate and up to date system notes referencing A/R and outstanding claims.
  • Manage heavy volume of calls, 50-60+ calls, in addition to all other duties.
  • Assist patients in understanding their ledger, carrier payments and patient responsibility when called upon.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of work for review by department manager
  • Perform other duties as directed.
