Medical Billing & Accounts Specialist

Slingsby & Huot Eye Associates is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing & Accounts Specialist to join our Rapid City, SD team. This in-office position focuses on accurate payment posting, insurance follow-up, patient account support, and other billing activities that help keep our revenue cycle running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately post insurance and patient payments
• Review outstanding insurance claims and follow up on unpaid or unresolved balances
• Monitor patient accounts and assist with account-related questions
• Respond to patient billing inquiries in a professional and helpful manner
• Perform medical billing and coding related to ophthalmology services as needed
• Maintain accurate billing and account records
• Assist with additional billing and revenue cycle responsibilities as needed
• Work closely with team members to resolve account issues and maintain an efficient billing process

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and follow-through skills
• Professional communication and customer service abilities
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently as well as part of a team
• Previous medical billing experience preferred
• Medical coding experience is a plus, but not required
• Ability to handle confidential patient and billing information appropriately
• Dependable attendance and a consistent, professional approach to work

Compensation & Benefits

• $19–$27 per hour, based on experience
