Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our growing multi-location medical practice. This is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims, follow-up on unpaid claims, and maximizing reimbursement while maintaining compliance with all payer guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Review and correct claim prior to submission
- Follow up on denied, rejected, or unpaid claims with insurance companies
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits when needed
- Work aging reports and identify trends in denials with recommendations for improvements
- Ensure compliance with all payer regulations and guidelines
- Communicate with front desk, billing team, and providers to resolve billing issues
- Assist with patient billing inquiries and payment plans as needed
Qualifications- Minimum 2+ years of medical billing experience
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Experience with payer portals (i.e. Medicare Connex, Availity, UHC, etc)
- Experience with EMR/PM systems
- Strong understanding of claim denials and appeals process
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications- Understanding medical billing process and guidelines
- Experience in interventional pain management and vascular preferred but not required
- Knowledge of prior authorizations, predeterminations, and referrals
