About the Role:
Gamma Surgery Center LLC in Pittsburgh, PA is looking for a detail-oriented Medical Billing/Coding Specialist to join our dedicated healthcare team. This is a great opportunity to play a vital role in the financial operations of a dynamic surgical facility where accuracy and efficiency truly matter.



Responsibilities:

• Accurately assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to surgical procedures and diagnoses
• Submit and follow up on medical claims to insurance carriers, Medicare, and Medicaid
• Review and resolve claim denials, rejections, and underpayments in a timely manner
• Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts and reconcile billing records
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and obtain necessary pre-authorizations
• Communicate with physicians, clinical staff, and payers to resolve billing discrepancies
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and coding guidelines

Requirements:

• Experience in medical billing and coding, preferably in a surgical or outpatient setting
• Familiar with Surgical Information Systems (SIS) computer system
• Proficiency with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
• CPC, CCS, or equivalent medical coding certification preferred
• Familiarity with insurance claim submission, EOBs, and denial management
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer billing requirements
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
