Medical Billing Specialist needed for small community clinic. Must be able to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement. Must have experience with filing Medi-Cal and private insurance claims, medical coding expertise and claims knowledge to minimize and correct denials.

Duties to include:
  • Ensuring accurate claims information, including patient data, diagnoses and procedure codes.
  • Submitting claims on time to primary, secondary and tertiary payers.
  • Following up on denied or unpaid claims, including appeals and resubmissions.
  • Generating patient statements and invoices, including prior payments and the remaining balance.
  • Reconciling claims billing reports.
  • Posting payments to correct line items when received.
  • Collecting patient health histories.

$28 to $30 per hour to start DOE.
