Our client is a well-established and growing home health agency dedicated to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the communities they serve. They are seeking an experienced Billing Specialist to join their revenue cycle team.

This fully remote position is ideal for a billing professional with experience in Medicare home health billing who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The Billing Specialist will play an important role in ensuring accurate claim submission, maintaining compliance with payer requirements, and supporting the organization's overall revenue cycle.

The ideal candidate has recent experience with Medicare billing, understands home health documentation requirements, and is knowledgeable in current medical billing regulations, coding terminology, and insurance guidelines. Candidates with previous home health or home care experience are strongly preferred.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and submit Medicare and commercial insurance claims accurately and on time

  • Process Notices of Admission (NOAs) and ensure timely 30-day and 60-day billing submissions

  • Monitor claim status and resolve billing edits, rejected claims, and returned claims

  • Review billing documentation for accuracy and compliance prior to claim submission

  • Maintain current knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance billing requirements

  • Work closely with clinical, intake, authorization, and collections teams to resolve billing issues and obtain required documentation

  • Assist with claim corrections, billing adjustments, and reimbursement inquiries

  • Maintain accurate account documentation and billing activity within the EMR and billing systems

  • Participate in audits, month-end billing activities, and revenue cycle reporting

  • Ensure compliance with payer regulations, agency policies, and industry best practices

  • Support continuous process improvement initiatives to maximize billing accuracy and reimbursement

Qualifications

  • Previous medical billing experience required

  • Home health or home care billing experience strongly preferred

  • Strong understanding of Medicare billing requirements and reimbursement guidelines

  • Working knowledge of medical billing terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding

  • Experience with Medicare Advantage and commercial insurance billing preferred

  • Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and billing software

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a remote environment

Compensation & Benefits
