A multidisciplinary medical practice is looking for a Medical Billing Specialist or Insurance Billing Specialist who will be responsible for organizing patient medical costs and collecting payments from patients. Essential Functions Set up payment arrangements, collect accounts, and monitor and pursue delinquent accounts. Monitor and resolve claim discrepancies, including but not limited to clearinghouse rejections and claim denials. Understanding of insurance billing and payment processing, as well as ICD-10 and CPT coding Calculating and collecting payments for services like procedures, tests, or surgeries Submit primary and secondary insurance claims electronically daily and on HCFA to ensure timely reimbursement. Provide telephone and office customer service for all patients and authorized representatives regarding patient accounts under practice protocol. Adhere to all practice policies related to HIPAA and Medicare Compliance. Obtain prior authorizations for specialty medications and Veterans Administration.
