    Posting Summary Position Title: Medical Billing - Workforce Development Instructor - Pooled Position Job Category: WFD Salary Range: Position Type: Instructor Department: Workforce Development - Instructional

    Job Summary Instruct students in the Medical Billing certificate program. • Provides Medical Billing instruction to workforce development students. • Communicates class content to students so that learning occurs and skills are developed. • Prepare students for entry-level employment as a Medical Biller and to pass the Certified Professional Biller (CPB) American Association of Professional Coders exam. • Instruct from approved curriculum. • Responsible for assessment and feedback. • Make suggestions for improvement to ensure students satisfy course standards training requirements and objectives. • Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process. • Maintain student attendance. • Assist with course program evaluation.

    Qualifications

    • Education Minimum of bachelors degree in health care related discipline required. 3 years experience in the medical field and formal training from an accredited institution. Certified Professional Biller or Certified Billing Associate certification required.

    • Experience • Knowledge of navigation of healthcare industry rules and regulations including HIPAA, False Claims Act, Fair Debt Collections Act, and an understanding of the life cycle of a medical billing claim and how to improve the revenue cycle. • Prior experience with underserved population. • Strong computer, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

    • Skills Certified Professional Biller (CPB) required. Demonstrated knowledge of discipline including current developments and technologies in related field of specialization. Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to use technology in education as appropriate to the subject matter. Please be specific in stating your areas of expertise and experience. 3 years professional work experience in the subject area. At least 1 year of classroom teaching experience with non-traditional adult students preferred.

    Work Hours Class schedules may include day, evening, or weekend schedules. Please specify availability.
