Medical Charge Entry and Document Specialist

Job HighlightsWe are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Charge Entry & Document Specialist. Key responsibilities will include accurate charge entry of professional and ancillary physician services and supplies and the retrieval of medical records from various sources, scanning and upload into our Practice Management system for charge entry purposes. The ideal candidate has a background in the healthcare setting with excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment and under the direction of our coding team. QualificationsHigh school graduate or equivalentMinimum of 2 years of experience in medical records, medical coding or medical billing, with a working knowledge of CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 codesKnowledge of medical terminology and anatomyAbility to identify and handle medical records in a HIPAA compliant mannerMust be available to work 40 hours a weekExcellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectivelyStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to work independently and as part of a teamUnderstanding of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements, including HIPAA and Medicare/Medicaid guidelines Job Type: Full-time (non-remote) Schedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftMonday to Friday Benefits:Health insuranceDental insuranceVision insurance401(k) matching and Profit SharingLife insurancePaid time offVarious other supplemental plans
