This role is essential in supporting physicians, staff, and patients by removing barriers to care and ensuring a smooth, efficient patient experience across clinical and administrative workflows .

What You'll Be Doing
You will serve as a key resource for patients and staff, helping coordinate care, manage requests, and ensure timely follow-up across multiple areas of the practice.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Coordination & Support
- Assist in removing barriers to patient care and ensuring timely follow-up
- Complete non-surgical FMLA forms within 72 hours
- Obtain prior authorizations, including specialty medications
- Process prescription refills and support medication-related workflows
- Assist with patient portal updates and respond to patient inquiries
- Coordinate lab and radiology referrals as needed
- Support hospitals and providers with follow-ups for complex cases
Clinical & Administrative Support
- Assist with MA voicemail overflow and general clinical support tasks
- Scan, route, and task results within the EMR system
- Manage incoming faxes and ensure proper distribution
Front Office Support
- Answer phones and assist patients with scheduling and general questions
- Schedule post-operative appointments and assist with provider workflows
- Respond to patient messages through various platforms (NextPatient, YouCallMD)
What We're Looking For
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or ABR-OE certification preferred
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a medical assistant or similar role
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Experience with EMR/EHR systems and Microsoft Office
- Team-oriented with a proactive and resourceful approach
- Bilingual preferred
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This role involves frequent sitting, walking, and direct patient interaction. Candidates must be comfortable working in a busy clinical environment, using computers and phones regularly, and maintaining professionalism under pressure.
