About the Role:Lifetime Family Medicine LLC is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Coder & Biller to join their team part-time in Gainesville, VA. This is not a remote job, must be in person. Responsibilities:- Primary Responsibility wil be to accurately assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to patient encounters and procedures for 9 providers - Must have excellent up to date coding knowledge
- Prepare and submit clean claims to insurance carriers, including Medicare and Medicaid
- Review and resolve claim denials, rejections, and appeals in a timely manner
- Post payments, adjustments, and patient balances to accounts
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to billing
- Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable and unpaid claims
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and payer-specific billing guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the practice
Requirements:- 2–3 years of medical coding and billing experience in a family medicine practice (required)
- Proficiency with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Familiarity with EHR/practice management software (preferably athenahealth)
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing requirements
- CPC, CCS, or equivalent medical coding certification preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
