Remote Opportunity: Eligible to work remotely after 90 days onsite
Certified professional coding credential required
Previous pathology coding experience preferred
Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS coding
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and pathology terminology
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to review medical documentation and determine appropriate codes
Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information
We are seeking a Certified Pathology Coder to join our team in Tulsa. This position is responsible for reviewing pathology documentation and accurately assigning appropriate medical codes while following current coding guidelines, payer requirements, and compliance standards.
The ideal candidate will have strong pathology coding knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and productivity.
This position offers a flexible work environment, with the opportunity to transition to remote work after successfully completing the first 90 days onsite.
Review pathology reports and medical documentation for coding accuracy
Assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes
Ensure documentation supports all assigned codes
Review records for missing or incomplete information that may affect coding
Apply current coding guidelines and payer requirements
Maintain compliance with applicable coding regulations and standards
Identify and correct coding discrepancies and errors
Ensure accurate and timely completion of assigned coding work
Work closely with billing and revenue cycle teams when needed
Maintain productivity and quality standards
Stay current on changes to coding guidelines, regulations, and payer policies
Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all applicable privacy requirements
Pathology coding experience strongly preferred
Experience with medical billing or revenue cycle processes is a plus
Experience working with electronic medical records and coding software
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Strong commitment to accuracy, compliance, and quality
