A Medical Courier is responsible for safely transporting medical items such as lab specimens, blood samples, pharmaceuticals, medical records, and equipment between healthcare facilities, laboratories, clinics, and hospitals. This role is critical in supporting patient care by ensuring timely and secure deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
Pick up and deliver medical specimens, lab samples, and supplies to designated locations
Follow strict handling and transportation protocols (including biohazard and temperature-sensitive items)
Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule
Maintain chain-of-custody documentation and delivery logs
Verify contents and obtain signatures upon pickup and delivery
Handle sensitive and confidential patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Inspect vehicle regularly and ensure it is clean and in good working condition
Follow all traffic laws and safety guidelines
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, healthcare staff, and clients
Required Skills & Qualifications
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong time management and organizational skills
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to follow safety and handling procedures

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Basic knowledge of GPS/navigation systems
