We are recruiting for a Full-Time Medical Day Care Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) to join our skilled team of pediatric professionals in Northfield, NJ. This position is benefit eligible.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) / Recreational Therapist (RT) provides comprehensive developmental, psychosocial, and therapeutic support services to pediatric patients enrolled in the Medical Day Care program.

The CCLS/RT functions as a key member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating developmentally appropriate therapeutic activities that promote:

• Gross motor development
• Fine motor development
• Cognitive functioning
• Social and emotional development

The role includes medical play, coping support, behavior strategies, therapeutic recreation, and family-centered interventions for children with chronic illness and disabilities.

Care is delivered in accordance with:

• Facility policies and procedures
• NJ Department of Health Pediatric Medical Day Care standards
• Interdisciplinary care planning requirements
• Infection control and safety policies

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Child Life, Therapeutic Recreation, Child Development, or related field
2. Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) or eligible / Recreational Therapist credentials (CTR or equivalent)
3. Experience working with children with chronic illness and/or disabilities
4. Pediatric healthcare or medical daycare experience preferred
5. Ability to safely supervise groups of children
6. Strong communication and interdisciplinary teamwork skills
7. Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and trauma-informed care
8. Current CPR certification (BLS required)
