Job Title: Medical Device Assembler I
Job Location: Sylmar, CA
Pay rate: $21.50/hr
Shift Hours: 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM

Job Description:

We are seeking a Medical Device Assembler to support the production of high-quality medical devices in a cleanroom manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for assembling, repairing, testing, and inspecting medical devices such as pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related components while following established manufacturing procedures and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, repair, test, and inspect medical devices according to standardized work instructions.
  • Perform manufacturing operations under close supervision while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Ensure production documentation, travelers, and quality records are complete, accurate, and up to date.
  • Follow written procedures, verbal instructions, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Maintain product traceability and support quality investigations when required.
  • Operate electronic data collection systems and basic computer software.
  • Prioritize daily work assignments to meet production goals.
  • Handle and assemble small components with precision and attention to detail.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and visitors.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures and verbal instructions.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use electronic data collection systems.
  • Strong manual dexterity and ability to work with small components.
  • Ability to make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and teamwork.

Work Environment:

  • Cleanroom manufacturing environment.
  • Must comply with strict gowning, hygiene, and contamination control requirements.
  • Follow all safety policies and manufacturing procedures.

Dress Code Requirements:

  • Non-shedding, clean clothing without loose fibers, glitter, sequins, tassels, or frayed material.
  • Closed-toe, closed-heel shoes with heels no higher than 2 inches.
  • No sandals, slippers, clogs, or open-weave footwear.
  • No nail polish, acrylic nails, artificial nails, makeup, or scented personal care products (except deodorant).
  • Jewelry and body piercings must comply with cleanroom safety requirements.
  • Clothing must fully cover the torso, upper arms, and legs and fit properly under required lab gowns.
