Medical Device Model Processing Technician
We’re a New State of the Art Technology Manufacturing Plant in Oak Creek, WI!
Job Summary: The Model Processing Technician is responsible for preparing, processing, and verifying dental models used in the fabrication of clear aligners. This position supports the digital manufacturing workflow by handling patient records, producing physical and digital models, operating scanning and 3D printing equipment, and ensuring quality standards are met throughout the production process.
Essential Functions:
Performs quality checks and modifies treatment files to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Ensures all records meet regulatory standards for medical devices.
Maintains confidentiality and security of sensitive product and patient‑related data.
Identifies and escalates discrepancies or system issues that fall outside established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Receive, review, and process patient cases according to prescribed production procedures.
Prepare, inspect, and organize digital and physical dental models for aligner manufacturing.
Operate 3D scanners, printers, and post-processing equipment.
Clean, cure, trim, and finish printed models to company quality standards.
Verify case information and ensure accurate patient identification throughout the workflow.
Perform quality inspections on printed models and digital files for accuracy and completeness.
Maintain production records and update case statuses within the manufacturing management system.
Package and route cases to the appropriate department for thermoforming, trimming, or shipping.
Identify and report defects, equipment issues, or production variances.
Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), quality requirements, and safety guidelines.
Assist with equipment maintenance, cleaning, and routine calibration.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
Meet daily productivity and quality goals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School diploma and/or equivalent.
Proficient in using computers. Experience with 3D processing software.
Ability to manage confidential information securely.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Follow the work instructions and ensure the implementation of process standards.
Preferred but not required Qualifications:
Experience in clear aligners, orthodontics, dental devices, pharmaceutical, healthcare or custom‑manufactured devices.
Has a good understanding of technical documentation such as SOPs, work instructions, and engineering drawings.
