Entry-Level Medical Device Sales Rep – Hearing Instrument Specialist Trainee

Location: Brevard, NC

American Hearing Care is seeking a motivated, goal-oriented professional interested in building a career in hearing healthcare and medical device sales. This entry-level opportunity combines patient care, hearing technology, and consultative sales while providing a pathway toward professional licensure in North Carolina.

No prior hearing healthcare experience is required. We provide comprehensive training and cover required study materials, books, examination fees, and applicable licensing expenses.

Position Overview

The Hearing Instrument Specialist Trainee works under the supervision of a qualified hearing healthcare professional while learning the clinical, technical, and sales skills necessary to become a licensed Hearing Aid Specialist in North Carolina.

The selected candidate must qualify for and maintain Registered Apprentice status with the North Carolina State Hearing Aid Dealers and Fitters Board and successfully progress toward state licensure.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn to conduct hearing screenings and evaluations under required supervision.

• Educate patients about hearing loss and available hearing solutions.

• Learn to recommend, fit, program, adjust, and troubleshoot hearing devices.

• Provide follow-up care and support to help patients achieve successful hearing outcomes.

• Develop consultative sales skills and present hearing solutions professionally and ethically.

• Build strong patient relationships and deliver an exceptional patient experience.

• Work toward established sales goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Complete required training, supervised experience, and preparation for North Carolina licensure.

• Maintain accurate patient documentation and comply with company and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Must be at least 18 years old and meet North Carolina requirements for apprentice registration.

• No prior hearing healthcare experience required.

• Sales, customer service, healthcare, retail, hospitality, or other customer-facing experience preferred.

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working toward sales and performance goals.

• Willing and able to complete all requirements necessary to become a licensed Hearing Aid Specialist in North Carolina.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $45,000–$50,000 plus commission
