    Medical Device Sterilization Material Movement Specialist

    At STERIS Applied Sterilization Technologies (AST), we advance global health and safety through contract sterilization services across 50+ facilities and four decades of experience. We partner with medical device, pharmaceutical, consumer, and industrial companies to ensure products are ready for the people who rely on them.

    Role snapshot

    • Location: Onsite — Saxonburg, PA (nearest major market: Pittsburgh)
    • Shift: Nights, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
    • Compensation: $19.47/hour + $2.00/hour night differential; bonus eligible
    • Pay will meet or exceed any higher local minimums; individual pay reflects market, experience, education, certifications, and language skills.

    Primary impact areas

    • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to stage, move, and store Customer product within the sterilization workflow
    • Manually and/or via automation load and unload product into validated irradiation and gas sterilization systems
    • Apply and retrieve dosimeters/monitoring devices to confirm proper sterilization
    • Follow site safety protocols; complete required training and annual certification for PPE usage (including SCBA)
    • Maintain safety, quality, and accuracy within FDA, ISO, and GMP guidelines

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • 2+ years of warehouse experience in an FDA/ISO/GMP-regulated setting
    • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs; comfortable working hands-on while standing or seated
    • Preferred: basic computer and math proficiency; prior forklift experience/licensure
    • Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and collaborative
