Description
Medical Device Sterilization Material Movement Specialist

At STERIS Applied Sterilization Technologies (AST), we advance global health and safety through contract sterilization services across 50+ facilities and four decades of experience. We partner with medical device, pharmaceutical, consumer, and industrial companies to ensure products are ready for the people who rely on them.
Role snapshot
Location: Onsite — Saxonburg, PA (nearest major market: Pittsburgh)
Shift: Nights, 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Compensation: $19.47/hour + $2.00/hour night differential; bonus eligible
Pay will meet or exceed any higher local minimums; individual pay reflects market, experience, education, certifications, and language skills.
Primary impact areas
Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to stage, move, and store Customer product within the sterilization workflow
Manually and/or via automation load and unload product into validated irradiation and gas sterilization systems
Apply and retrieve dosimeters/monitoring devices to confirm proper sterilization
Follow site safety protocols; complete required training and annual certification for PPE usage (including SCBA)
Maintain safety, quality, and accuracy within FDA, ISO, and GMP guidelines
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
2+ years of warehouse experience in an FDA/ISO/GMP-regulated setting
Capability to lift up to 50 lbs; comfortable working hands-on while standing or seated
Preferred: basic computer and math proficiency; prior forklift experience/licensure
Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and collaborative
