Medical Director - AP/CP General Surgical Pathologist

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Anatomic & Clinical Pathology Medical Director to lead a well-established pathology practice serving a large regional medical center on Florida's Gulf Coast. This leadership opportunity is ideal for a board-certified pathologist with strong expertise in general surgical pathology and a passion for collaboration, clinical excellence, and quality patient care.

As Medical Director, you will work alongside a multidisciplinary team in a modern hospital environment that offers a diverse case mix and advanced specialty services.

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology (AP/CP)
• Minimum of three years of hospital-based pathology experience preferred
• Strong proficiency in:
  • General Surgical Pathology
  • Clinical pathology interpretations
  • Frozen section procedures
• Subspecialty training or expertise in Breast Pathology or Lung Pathology is a plus!
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, hospital staff, laboratory personnel, and referring providers
• Active Florida Medical License or eligibility to obtain one (FCVS participation is a plus)

Practice Highlights

• Approximately 3,100 surgical pathology cases annually
• Approximately 200 cytology cases annually
• 9 10 procedures per week
• 15 20 peripheral smears per week
• Diverse pathology case mix including:
  • Breast
  • Colorectal
  • Thoracic
  • Urologic
  • Neurologic specimens
• Regular procedures include:
  • Frozen sections (sentinel lymph nodes, lung, orthopedic, skin, brain)
  • Rapid On-Site Evaluation (ROSE) for lung procedures
