We are seeking a skilled and visionary Medical Director to lead our Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic Surgery (CVT) program within a high-performing hospital-based physician group in Arlington, VA. This role combines clinical practice with leadership responsibilities, overseeing quality, growth, and integration of the CVT service line.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, grow, and support the Cardiovascular and Thoracic (CVT) team and service line by ensuring optimal provider coverage, fostering professional development, and driving initiatives that enhance clinical productivity and performance.

  • Advance the visibility and reach of the Cardiovascular Surgery Program through community education, outreach initiatives, and the development of a regionally integrated Cardiac Care network.

  • Ensure clinical excellence in quality and patient safety by overseeing policy and procedure updates, care coordination, conducting regular performance reviews, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Promote financial sustainability of the CVT program by championing cost-effective practices that benefit patients, staff, and the broader health system across the office, CVICU, and CV Stepdown Unit.

  • Collaborate with administrative and business development teams to support the strategic growth of cardiovascular services, including new facilities and service lines aligned with VHC Health's mission and long-term vision.

  • Participate in strategic planning and physician recruitment

Qualifications

  • MD or DO; Board Certified in Cardiothoracic or Vascular Surgery

  • Eligible for Virginia licensure

  • 5+ years of post-training experience preferred

  • Proven leadership in clinical or programmatic roles

  • EPIC experience preferred

Compensation Range:$250,000.00 - $552,240.00 annually
