The Medical Director will assume responsibility for the medical component of the hospice program, serve as a clinical resource to the interdisciplinary team, support appropriate hospice eligibility and certification decisions, and help ensure continuity and quality of physician services.
Requirements
Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
Active, unrestricted Ohio physician license.
Current state and federal controlled-substance registrations.
Hospice or palliative-care experience, or substantive training in end-of-life care.
Knowledge of Medicare hospice eligibility, certification, recertification, and Conditions of Participation.
Ability to collaborate effectively with attending physicians and interdisciplinary hospice teams.
Commitment to continued medical education related to hospice and palliative medicine.
Eligible to participate in Medicare and not excluded from any federal healthcare program.
Strong communication, clinical judgment, documentation, and relationship-development skills.
