Medical Director / Inpatient Psychiatrist Opportunity

Location: Biloxi, MS

We are seeking an experienced Psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director for an established inpatient behavioral health program in Biloxi, Mississippi.

This opportunity is based within a 55-bed psychiatric hospital providing inpatient behavioral health services across a broad patient population, from adolescents through geriatric adults. The Medical Director will combine direct patient care with clinical leadership and oversight of the psychiatric program.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with psychiatric and behavioral health conditions
• Provide inpatient psychiatric care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and ongoing patient assessments
• Develop and oversee individualized treatment plans
• Manage psychiatric medications and monitor patient response to treatment
• Provide clinical leadership and medical oversight for the psychiatric program
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, therapists, social workers, and other behavioral health professionals
• Provide clinical guidance and oversight to members of the treatment team
• Participate in treatment planning and discharge planning
• Support development and implementation of clinical policies and standards
• Participate in quality improvement, compliance, and performance initiatives
• Collaborate with facility leadership regarding clinical operations and patient care
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency
• Eligible for a Mississippi medical license
• Inpatient Psychiatry experience preferred
• Experience treating a diverse psychiatric patient population preferred
• Medical Director or other physician leadership experience preferred
• Strong clinical, leadership, and communication skills
