JOB OPPORTUNITY
The City of Berkeley invites you to apply for the position of Medical Director (hourly, non-benefited). In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide clinical and programmatic consultation in a wide range of Public Health programs, including Immunization Programs, Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health (MCAH), and Reproductive Sexual Health Programs. You will provide medical oversight for the clinical operations of the Public Health Division, coordinate activities with City departments and outside agencies, and provide highly responsible and complex support to the Director of the Health, Housing & Community Services (HHCS) Department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is:
Equivalent to a Doctorate of Medicine from an accredited medical college or university and five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in the practice of clinical medicine. Experience must include completion of an accredited residency in an applicable field and two years of experience as a licensed Physician working in a specialty area such as disease control and adult health or maternal and child health.
Desirable qualifications include a degree in Public Health, experience in working with community groups, and Board Certification in a Medical Specialty relevant to public health such as family medicine, pediatrics, or preventive medicine.
Other requirements include the ability to travel to various locations within and outside the City of Berkeley to meet program needs and to fulfill the job responsibilities. When driving on City business, the incumbent must maintain a valid California drivers license and a satisfactory driving record.
