This role will oversee the performance of PACE clinical care, in collaboration with clinical senior leadership and management. In addition, the Medical Director will provide direct primary patient care for PACE participants.\n \nWhat You'll Do\n \nThe Medical Director of PACE leads the development and ongoing refinement of departmental clinical policies and procedures while overseeing clinical quality management. Working closely with the PACE Quality Director, staff, senior clinical leadership, and administrative partners, the role supports annual performance improvement efforts and ensures excellence in patient experience, safety, and overall quality of care.\n \nThe successful candidate will be able to perform the following responsibilities:\n\n Development and updating departmental clinical policies and procedures.\n Oversee Clinical Quality Management of the department in concert with PACE Quality Director and other PACE directors.\n Maintains and communicates all operating policies and procedures to all subordinates on an on-going basis.\n Provides strong leadership for subordinates and resolves all staff issues, problems, and concerns in a timely manner.\n Assists the department in annual performance improvement projects.\n Responsible for recruiting primary care physicians and nurse practitioners.\n Collaborate with the IT department for data reporting and validating IT reports related to PACE services.\n Assists in the clinical portion of grant writing and reporting.\n Works closely with coding and billing departments to assure proper coding and fund allocation.\n \nClinical and Administrative Time:\n\n Approximately 12 weekly clinical hours (15 payroll hours), including call rotation. This includes call responsibility in rotation with primary care staff for weekends, holidays, and weekdays.\n 25 administrative hours will be spent in PACE to include the above noted responsibilities and leadership responsibilities.\n \nLeadership Responsibilities:\n \nMandatory meetings:\n\n Neighbor Health Clinical Leaders meeting (weekly)\n NeighborHealth Medical Standards Committee (monthly)\n NeighborHealth Manager's meeting (monthly)\n PACE Senior Leadership (weekly)\n PACE Clinical Operations (weekly)\n PACE Primary Care staff (weekly)\n PACE Primary Care Clinic Leads (weekly)\n PACE Clinical Quality (monthly)\n PACE Clinical Managers (monthly)\n PACE Managers (monthly)\n PACE Utilization Management (quarterly)\n \nAdditional ad hoc meetings related to services and operations\n\n Risk adjustment analysis and strategy (internal, and with external consultants)\n NeighborHealth Pharmacy\n NeighborHealth Dental\n Contracted nursing facilities\n \nMeetings to attend in parallel or by delegated personnel\n\n NeighborHealth CDS Workgroup (monthly) (and/or PACE Clinician Builder attendance)\n NeighborHealth Epic Workgroup (monthly) (and/or PACE Clinician Builder attendance)\n NeighborHealth Medication Safety (monthly) (and/or alternate designated PACE provider)\n NeighborHealth Risk Management (monthly) (and/or PACE Quality Director or clinical/quality staff designee)\n NeighborHealth Pharmacy and Therapeutics (quarterly) (and/or PACE Clinical pharmacy staff or clinical staff designee)\n NeighborHealth Performance Improvement (monthly) (and/or PACE Quality Director or clinical/quality staff designee)\n \nOther Duties:\n \nPlease note, this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.\n \nWhat You'll Bring:\n\n MD and board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine required.\n Minimum of 5 years of working in Geriatrics.\n Current MD licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.\n BLS Certification.\n Required to obtain and maintain professional licensure and clinical privileges at NeighborHealth and Boston Medical Center.\n Knowledge of the treatment of Geriatric Care.\n Ability to use data to evaluate outcomes required.\n Working knowledge and experience with electronic medical record systems, performance dashboards, database products, and analysis tools.\n Must have the ability to lead change in an organization and possess excellent interpersonal, communication and teaching skills.\n 5 years of Clinical Leader experience Exceptional problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.\n Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and discretion.\n The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.\n \nWork Environment & Physical Requirements\n\n This position operates in a professional office and clinic environment.\n Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to operate a computer and other office equipment.\n Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while performing administrative and computer-based tasks.\n Occasionally required to lift or move items weighing up to 20 pounds (such as files, office supplies, or small equipment).\n Must have adequate visual acuity, hearing, and manual dexterity to perform essential job functions.\n May occasionally move between clinic and administrative areas and be exposed to a typical clinical setting.\n Expected to follow all NeighborHealth and OSHA safety policies and procedures, including maintaining a safe and ergonomic work environment.\n Reads, understands and complies with all Standards of Conduct, Joint Commission policies, requirements set forth by the United States Department of Health and Human Services' Health Resources and Services Administration pursuant to Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act, applicable State regulations and guidelines, and all laws related to position responsibilities and employment at NeighborHealth.\n Upholds procedures and systems to safeguard the confidentiality of all patient and employee information\n Upholds safety policies, practices, and procedures including safety, fire safety, electrical safety, proper body mechanics and material handling, office/ergonomic safety, and other employee safety measures.\n \nSalary\n\n* Salary: from $235,000 to $350,000 based on years of experience.\n \nEqual Employment Opportunity Statement\n \nNeighborHealth proudly operates as an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
