Medical Director

Inpatient Mental Health Residential Treatment Program | Massachusetts

We are seeking an experienced Medical Director / Psychiatrist to provide clinical and medical leadership for an inpatient residential mental health treatment program in Massachusetts. This is an excellent opportunity for a psychiatrist who is passionate about delivering high-quality behavioral healthcare while working alongside a multidisciplinary clinical team.

Position Overview

The Medical Director will oversee psychiatric services, support clinical decision-making, and help ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and evidence-based treatment. The physician must be available to work on-site two days per week and participate in the program's on-call rotation/responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing clinical oversight
• Serve as the medical leader for psychiatric and behavioral health services
• Collaborate with therapists, nursing, clinical leadership, and other members of the treatment team
• Provide guidance on complex psychiatric and medication-related cases
• Support treatment planning, quality initiatives, and continuity of care
• Ensure services meet applicable clinical, regulatory, and documentation standards
• Participate in on-call coverage as required
• Maintain an on-site presence two days per week

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Active and unrestricted Massachusetts medical license
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• Currently practicing psychiatry in Massachusetts
• Experience treating individuals with primary mental health and/or co-occurring psychiatric conditions
• Residential, inpatient psychiatric, or other higher-level behavioral health experience strongly preferred
• Strong clinical leadership and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
