Job Description:
The Equipment Representative's primary role is to assist & advise DHA in meeting mission & OASD defined responsibilities, aid in the development of DHA Equipment policy, procedures, standards, tools/templates, and provide MTF sustainment support as assigned. The Equipment Representative shall assist in all phases of the Facility Life Cycle Management (FLCM) activities to include the requirement development and planning, pre-design and design, construction, initial outfitting, transition, acceptance, closeout and sustainment.
- Travel to & conduct Equipment site investigations at the MTF
- Identify & develop Equipment requirements on behalf of Project Sponsor to include Cabinetry (Div 06) (fixed casework), Openings (Div 08) (doors, windows, glazing, frames, & hardware finishes), Interior Finishes (Div 09) (flooring, walls, ceilings, fixed Furnishings & Fixtures (FF)), Specialties (Div 10)(cubicle tracks, partitions, signage, toilet compartments,
displays, lockers, shelving, accessories, etc.), Furnishings (Div 12) (furniture, window coverings, moveable casework, seating,
desking systems, site furnishings, artwork, accessories, etc.)
- Current-state conditions & whether they meet current Interior Design DoD & DHA
criteria.
- Develop & documents end-state results & objectives to include meeting Equipment DoD & DHA criteria
- Develop & documents the condition of existing Equipment & whether to reuse or
purchase new
- Determine quantity & location of Equipment for new or renovated spaces
- Review acquisition documents, to include Design, Construction, Initial Outfitting (IO) Contractor's RFPs/SOWs
- Communicates what Equipment deliverables are required during pre-design, design, preconstruction, construction, and outfitting so Government & contract reps can confirm conformance/compliance w/ criteria/standards
- Pre-Design & Design:
- Review Equipment pre-design deliverables & Site Investigation Reports (SIR)
- Review Equipment design deliverables
- Respond to RFIs related to Equipment
- Assist the Government in developing Equipment design change requests
- Preconstruction, Construction, Initial Outfitting:
- Review Equipment preconstruction, construction, & initial outfitting deliverables to include shop drawings, product literature,PRCs, cost estimates, etc.
- Respond to RFIs & ASIs related to Equipment
- Assist Government in developing Equipment construction & outfitting change requests Inspections & Acceptance:
- Inspect Equipment field conditions at project site
- Inspect installed Equipment products
- Closeout & Warranty:
- Review Equipment closeout & warranty submittals defined in the Interior Design
specification
- Minimum of five (5) years demonstrated experience in healthcare & research lab facility operations.
- Minimum of five (5) of years demonstrated experience defining & communicating Equipment requirements, constraints, objectives design and construction for all areas of the project life cycle to include reading & reviewing Equipment design documents, construction submittals, inspecting Equipment supplier and installers work, and confirming closeout submittals were received.
- Associate Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology -or -bachelor's degree in engineering from a civilian accredited school -or Active Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) issued by Assoc for Advancement of Medical Instrumentation Credentials Institute or United States Military Biomedical Equipment Technician training course completion
certificate -OR- 10 years' experience in the qualifications above with a minimum of 5-years specific to healthcare.
- Must be US Citizen.
- Ability to obtain security clearance is required.
